Richard L. Rosales
President Elect
Term 2016-2018

Richard Rosales is an Arizona native, born in Casa Grande and raised in Eloy. He graduated with honors from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School and the University of Arizona where he majored in Marketing. Richard has excelled in his professional career with Fortune 500 companies including Coca-Cola, JCPenney, Helene Curtis and Gillette. He has won many awards with previous employers including Rep of the Year, District of the Year and the Circle Achievement Award. These awards were a result of his sales and marketing abilities and excellent customer service. Upon leaving the consumer products industry, he worked at Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc. where he managed the circulation department and achieved the highest circulation ever for the daily newspaper.
Richard’s previous position was at the City of Casa Grande as their first webmaster and contributed to bringing the city’s web presence into the 21st century with more online services including live help, interactive maps, online video, online bill pay and mobile apps. While in his first year at the city, he was awarded the Shooting Star Award, the city’s top employee award as voted by his peers. He is a graduate of the Hispanic Leadership Institute-Pinal and participated in the Inland Press Fellows Program.
Richard resides in Casa Grande with his wife, Wanda, a 2nd grade school teacher in the Casa Grande Elementary School District. They have two children, Tyler and Briana. Richard is the Community Affairs Manager for APS in the Southeast division.

Shelley Brown
Term 2016 -2019

Shelly Brown had been on the Chamber Board for 4 years, Secretary/Treasurer for 3 years. She owns Brown's Coolers, Furniture and Appliances with her husband Joe Brown, which they have been married to for 24yrs. Their business just celebrated 33 years this year. They have two boys, Jacob is a Junior at ASU studying Electrical Engineering, and their youngest Caleb is a Senior at Coolidge High School, and also taking the Fire Science course at CAVIT. Her family has lived in Coolidge for 22yrs and proudly call it home. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the movies, hunting fishing, and just loving life. Besides being a board member with the Chamber, she is also Treasurer of the Coolidge FFA Alumni/Booster Club, a member of Coolidge High School Scholarship Committee , and the Baseball Boosters.

Debie Neely
Board Member

Debie Neely moved to Coolidge 25 years ago after marriage to husband, Chuck, a Florence, AZ native.  She is the business owner of Kiva Insurance & Financial Services LLC, which has been serving individuals and businesses of Pinal County and Arizona for over 20 years. She serves on the Coolidge Chamber of Commerce Board and is an active member of the Coolidge-Florence Elks Lodge, Boys and Girls Club and Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce. She has three daughters and seven grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, camping, caring for her home and yard and "messing around" with her horses.

Jim Garrett
Board Member
Term 2015-2018

Jim Garrett was born and raised in Coolidge. He attended Coolidge High school, and graduated from there in 1977.  Jim played baseball, football, and ran track at Coolidge High School. He was also a member of the letterman’s club, yearbook staff, and student government. He attended Central Arizona College, and later graduated from Arizona State University. He returned to Coolidge where two generations of his family before him owned a General Motors car dealership that he bought in 1998. He is a member of the Coolidge High School baseball booster, football booster, scholarship committee, and coach selection committees. He serves on the Coolidge Chamber of Commerce Board, Coolidge Industrial Development Authority (IDA Board), Pinal County Water Board, Coolidge Lions, Sons of America Legion, Coolidge Florence Elks Club, and Central Arizona College Board Foundation. He is an a active member of the Coolidge Church of Nazarene.  Jim continues to be a vocal advocate and financial supporter of the City of Coolidge, as well as Coolidge schools. His two sons graduated from CHS and his wife is currently serves as a member of the CUSD Governing Board. Jim enjoys training and hunting with his dogs

Pam Leal
Board Member
Term 2015-2018

Pam Leal grew up in Coolidge graduated from Coolidge High School in 1983. She the proud owner of D&J Trends studio in Coolidge. She been a cosmetologist/Aesthetician for 30 years and a salon owner for 16 years. Pam's Salon was chosen small business of the year in 2006. She is currently a Chamber of Commerce board member. She has been involved in the Coolidge Historic Commission, Little League, Coolidge baseball boosters president for 7 years, help annually with a cancer benefit that benefits local people, and sat on several Committees for the City of Coolidge. She like's being involved and giving back to the community where she grew up and that supports her, her beautiful family and her business.

Matthew McCormick
Board Member
Term 2016 - 2019

Mr. McCormick has been involved in economic development and agriculture in the region for over 7 years and has been instrumental in attracting employers like Tractor Supply Company to Pinal County. With the purchase of the Pinal Land Holdings portfolio (former 12,000 acre Mesa Water Farm), Saint Holdings and Mr. McCormick are heavily invested in the future of Coolidge and are actively working to attract new employers by developing state-of-the-art industrial and business parks. Mr. McCormick has a tremendous amount of experience working collaboratively in the region with many agencies and municipalities including, Coolidge Elected Officials and Staff, Pinal County Officials and Staff, Pinal Partnership, Access Arizona, Pinal County Town Hall, Central Arizona College, Arizona Commerce Authority, ADOT and Pinal County @ Work. Mr. McCormick is also a member of the Pinal Partnership Transportation Committee, Greater Phoenix Economic Council Ambassador Program and the Urban Land Institute-Young Leaders Group. As a board member, Mr. McCormick hopes to use the position to strengthen and showcase Coolidge's assets to new employers and work with the existing business community to grow the City's economy and improve quality of life for all residents.

Tom Shope
Board Member
Term 2017-2020

Born in Belle Plaine, Iowa, Tom Shope arrived in Coolidge, Arizona, at the age of 4 and has lived here ever since.

Upon graduating from Coolidge High School in 1966, Shope enrolled at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona and later attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

Shope assumed control of his family’s business, Shope’s Market, in 1970.  He oversaw the completion of his father Russell’s dream of a larger building for the market, now called Shope’s IGA.  From the time of assuming control of the business, Shope has been active in the Coolidge Chamber of Commerce, Retail Grocers Association of Arizona (now Arizona Food Marketing Alliance) and the National Grocers Association.  Some of the highlights of that involvement include being selected as AFMA’s Arizona Retailer of the Year in 1999, IGA’s Arizona Retailer of the Year in 1990 and the winner of NGA’s Spirit of America Award in 1988.  He has also served as the Chairman of IGA-Arizona and RGA as well as serving a term as President of the Coolidge Chamber of Commerce.

Shope’s political and community involvement began in 1973 when he was appointed to fill out a term on the Coolidge School Board.  He served as the Mayor of Coolidge for eight terms, finishing his tenure in 2014 and for many years was the only Republican Mayor in what was then a solid Democratic Pinal County.   In 2014, he was elected Justice of the Peace for the Florence Justice Court and served from 2015 to 2017.
